Killeshin/Hanover FC v St Patricks Boys
02/03 14:30
Killeshin/Hanover FC 0 - 3 St Patricks Boys

Killeshin/Hanover 0

St Patrick’s Boys 3

It was a very slow start from Killeshin/Hanover and it was no surprise that they found themselves 0-1 down, in the early stages, as St Pat’s started much the stronger and went ahead 0-1, when David Dunphy scored in the fifteen minutes of the half, he went on to score his brace on thirty minutes for a 0-2 lead. Killeshin/Hanover then started to come into the game and they dominated the last fifteen minutes of the half, with Dylan Regan, Mikey Dempsey and Shane Murphy, all going close, but with no reward and it was 0-2 at the interval.

Killeshin/Hanover changed their shape at half-time and it worked, as St Pat’s were restricted to just a few breakaway attacks, whilst Killeshin/Hanover were bombarding the St Pat’s goal, as chances were created for Ben Dorgan, Dylan Regan, Shane Murphy, Kaelum Hand, Vinny Oba and Timmy Mohammed, but all were spurned and hopefully, valuable lessons have been learned for these players. In one of their few breakaways, St Pat’s won a corner on seventy minutes and James Esser put it right on the head of Tom Mitchell, who steered it home for 0-3 and that’s how it finished.

Best for a Killeshin/Hanover side were Hubert Mazur, Bill Fitzgerald, Josh Lacken and Eamon Moran, whilst standing out for St Pat’s were James Esser, Lee Nolan and ‘Man of the Match’ – David Dunphy.

Round Tower Rovers v St Patricks Boys
23/02 14:30
Round Tower Rovers 2 - 3 St Patricks Boys

Round Tower Rovers 2

St Patrick’s Boys 3

This was a disappointing game for Rovers, who despite controlling the game for much of the time, they couldn’t come back from the three goals that they shipped in the first half.

Rovers started well and created a good number of chances, but they were all spurned and the closest that they came, was when Darren Robinson, latched on to a ball that was spilled by the St Pat’s keeper, but he put it wide. St Pat’s went 0-1 up on ten minutes and on twenty-five minutes Tom Mitchell made it 0-2 and on thirty minutes Paddy Regan made it 0-3 and that was the half-time score.

Rovers came out for the second-half, in a different frame of mind and they started pressing St Pat’s and Alex Renehan won a penalty that was well converted by Darren Robinson to make it 1-3 and just ten minutes later, Rovers were right back in the game following a brilliant finish by Darren Robinson, to complete his brace and make the score 2-3, with everything to play for. However, try as they might, Rovers just couldn’t force an equaliser and ended 2-3 to St Pat’s Boys.

It was a battling performance from the Rovers team and standing out for St Pat’s were Lee Nolan, Aaron Cullen and Paddy Regan, with special mention for Tyler Brennan, who put in a super display of football.
